Aleppo Pepper, also known as Halaby pepper, is a variety of Capsicum annuum that has an ideally balanced heat and flavor profile. Many consider Aleppo Pepper to be one of the best kept secrets of the chile world. Traditionally, the Aleppo pod ripens to a deep burgundy color, harvested and semi-dried, then coarsely ground and mixed with a bit of salt and olive oil, then left to dry completely. This produces ruby-red, slightly salty flakes that keep well in the freezer.

This crushed Aleppo Pepper is a flavorful departure from the more common crushed red peppers, is processed with sunflower oil and no salt.
